In 1750, the Marquise de Pompadour (Louis XV's mistress) acquired the privilege of having a glass factory in Paris, who then sent units to move Château Bellevue to Sèvres. Under the direction of the Marquis de Marigny, brother of the Marquise de Pompadour, the Manufacture Royale de Sèvres Crystals is now dedicated exclusively to glass, gaining a prestigious clientele throughout Europe. It produces furnishing objects and glasses.
