Made in a limited edition, this porcelain vase is part of a metaproject led by Alessandro Mendini who imagined, in 1992, an ideal of an aesthetic factory understood as a sequence of aesthetic creatures resembling each other, as a multiplication of their soul. To obtain the different from the identical, a hundred different authors tried their hand at a single starting form. And Alessi returns to produce a timeless classic. The Proust vase by Alessandro Mendini features a fine pure gold decoration on the base and lid. The rest of the surface, however, pays homage to the Pointillism of Marcel Proust's works.
